My artist statement
portrait critique:
describe: This piece depicts Taylor swift of her looking happy and I did her in black and some white and some also grey.Analyze: What I used in my piece was lines in the hair mostly in the principles I used contrast and I used a lot of details in my piece.interpret: The meaning/message I really didn't have one because I couldn't think of one.judge: This piece is successful because I feel like I tried best on it with the details and contrast and where I got to put all my white lines in her hair I feel like if I would have tried to put more details in my piece I wouldn't have been able to.inspiration:My inspiration of this piece the reason I choose this is because I felt like this was something I could take my time and try to draw and get a lot of details and contrast in my piece and get a lot of lines in her hair I felt like this was something easy for me to draw.process:I started out drawing the eyes and nose and mouth first on this piece then I started drawing the face and then I started with the hair and adding in the details in her hair and started putting in black lines and going over with white to make it look more detailed then I started going over the face and background.
Master's style critique:In this piece i learned drew a lot of grass with a light green background with my grass dark i also drew i bunch of different kind of flowers in the background. In the artist i used lines color and texture i also used pattern for my principles. In this piece i really didn't have meaning my piece was just realism and i didn't really have a message for this piece either. My inspiration for this piece was different type of flowers and colors also a different color back ground with darker grass i also used different shades for reds to do my flowers.
My process of this piece is i first painted over the whole bored with a green and i made the top of my piece light green and i made the bottom dark for the grass to be dark then i drew my flowers and then i made my stems drake green and i started painting my different kind of flowers different shade of red
Surface M. artist statement:
My piece depicts a picture of a anchor with a bible verse in the middle of my anchor my anchor is like a light blue and as my background i have different color blues Im not done with my background but what i am trying to do is to put in different color blues to make my background look like water. I first started by printing out a photo of a bible verse then i transferred it on to my canvas then i drew out my anchor around the verse and started painting it and i let that dry then i started with my background with a dark blue and white and light blue to make it become to look like water. My inspiration of this piece what made me want to do this piece is i love anchor and bible verses and i had did one similar tho this one last year but i had wrote the words on the canvas to where this piece all i had to do was print out a photo and transfer it on to my piece and i think i like this way better. My goal for this piece was to make my background to turn out like ocean water with the anchor with a different color blue but i think once i finish my background and add darker colors it will look better and look like actual water. My thoughts about my work i learned from Madison of how to do different color blues as my background to make it look like water i learned that you could print out a photo and mod podge it on to your canvas and let it dry then take water and get the mod-podge off your piece so you can see your words.
Inktober crit and artist statement:
My piece depicts a whale with ink that is outlined in the whale and has water color inside of the whale and also I have it in the background. I used texture to create the whales contrast in this pieces.I used water color and pin and ink on my whale the colors I used for inside of my whale was different shades of blues dark to light and I used different shades of blacks from black to gray in my background I have my water color going from light to dark to try to make it look like water.I used pen textures to make it look like there is actual pen around the whale.
In this piece I never came up with a meaning or message I couldn't think of one
My goal for this piece was to create lines in my whale I used texture I took maybe 5 minutes by sketching out the whale and then I started sketching out my whale on my final piece and then I started going over the lines In the whale with the ink.I learned that you could use just the ink pens instead of the pen and ink I also learned about blending the water colors together to make it look realistic and to make it look like different colors instead of all one color blue and to put blacks and grays in the whale by blending it with the blue.
Clay artist statement:
My piece depicts a clay coil pot with many different shapes and coils my piece starts off as 2 coils and i smooth them both out to my my bottom piece to be smooth then i started with my twisted coils and smooth them out in the out side and keep the out side like it was because i didn't want my whole coil pot to be smooth out.I used a combination of coils in my piece to make my coil pot stand out and making it look good by adding many different textures and values i used a variety of balls and twisted coils. In this piece i didn't have a meaning but in this piece i try to show all the different coils an twisted coils and all my other different shapes.
My piece did help me reach my goal of what i was trying to make because i was trying to the coil pot but i was trying to make a big one to see how much better i could do from the one i made last year and this one is a lot bigger and has more details in my piece from the last one i did.In this piece i learned that you don't have to slip and score your piece all you have to do is put the clay on your piece of what ever your making unless you feel like you need slip and score you can put it on there i also learned of how much better i could do this year then last year and everything worked out how i wanted it
Foreshortening: In this piece i did a Kate spade building on regular paper and i used presumes to show color to my piece.I created this by first sketching out my buildings and then i added my side walk to my building and then i wrote Kate spade to add to my building. My goal to finish this piece is to learn how to make my buildings taller to make it a bigger Kate spade store.
Art show artist statement:
In this piece I did a anchor on a canvas board with a rope and on top of it I put a saying that say god is my anchor and I painted this piece in 3 different colors.I created this by first painting my background all one color then I drew my anchor on my canvas with a penile then my rope then my words on top of it. then I went over all of my words in white. The reason I chose this piece was because I love anchor with words on top of them but this time I also challenged my self to put a rope with my anchor and my words on top of my piece I tried to make the rope make it look like it goes under the anchor and around to make it go back on top of the anchor on the bottom of the anchor. This piece turned out like I wanted it to but my meaning behind this Is the saying that is on my piece I feel like I could have done better with the rope but that was my first time ever doing a rope I feel like next time I can challenge my self more to make it better.I learned how to do a rope with the anchor and I learned how to put my words on top of my anchor.
Final piece: In this piece i created a underwater picture with sand and the beach water i also added a big rock in the back ground and the trees going over it and a sunset in the background. The media i used in this piece was water color i first started out by drawing my lines and then i started out with my sand and once that dried i did my water and then i did my background for the sunset i did red orange and yellow and then i put my rock in there and add black and a lot of water.
